My students have diagnosed me with "bookitis". Though they may not be diagnosticians, they are correct! I believe that a good book can be used to bring any lesson to the next level, to draw learners in and make the learning more meaningful.

- Writer's Workshop, using Barbara Mariconda's "Empowering Writers" and Lucy Calkins "Units of Study".
- Word work and writing conventions using Barbara Mariconda's "Sentence a Day".
- Levelled reading and targeted assessments, using resources such as Precision Reading and Fountas & Pinnell.
- Daily 5 Cafe independent reading, word work and centres.
- Shared reading and Literacy Place guided reading
- Increasing phonemic awareness, using resources such as Jolly Phonics.
- Sight word recognition building using Dolch and Fry word lists.
- Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI) with small groups.
- Technology such as Teach Your Monster to Read, RazKids, Bookflix, Starfall, ABC Ya, etc.
